 About John Guminiak

John.jpg

Mr. Guminiak is a second generation music teacher. His mother, Dolores, a very accomplished and well-respected musician and music educator, taught private music lessons for over 30 years, and Mr. Guminiak is proud to carry on the family tradition of helping others discover their musical talents and experience the joy of playing music.

Mr. Guminiak gained his musical skills not only by being apprenticed by his incredibly talented mother, but was also fortunate enough to grow up around and be mentored by numerous professional musicians. He learned piano, drums, and orchestration while standing alongside and studying those who make their living making music.

He continued to study music in college with a strong interest in becoming a music composer for film and television. This interest led to him to also study other aspects of filmmaking. So in addition to taking film music, music theory, and music history classes, he also took classes in screenwriting and film production and ultimately went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Radio-Television-Film from Cal State University, Fullerton.

Throughout his career, he has performed at numerous private and corporate events, played keyboards and drums on church worship teams for over 20 years, arranged music for professional jazz bands, and served at a private school as the intermediate band director.

He has also worked as a piano accompanist, and composed and recorded music for radio plays, stage plays and films.

Though Mr. Guminiak thoroughly enjoys composing and playing music, his favorite thing to do is share with others his musical knowledge and insights gained from his years as a performer.

His commitment to excellence, unique curriculum, and proven track record has made him one of the most sought after music teachers in the inland empire.
